When self-reliant Izzy lands on Mackinac Island, she wonders if she’s finally found a home. But Izzy’s carelessness puts her and her aunt on a road to financial ruin. Threatened with eviction, Izzy resolves to make things right by pursuing a treasure deep within the island.
Winter arrives, along with snowstorms, strange people, and stranger stories. Guided by the unusually knowledgeable caretaker, Mr. Rushing, Izzy is close to uncovering some answers— but first she’ll have to walk the deck of an ancient ship, raise a crew all her own, and cross cutlasses with a legendary pirate.
