Hamedani (along with his co-writer, Travis Betz) became known when their script The Saviors was selected to the 2018 Black List. The screenplay is being produced by Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films and Amasia Films with Hamedani directing. Hamedani just finished adapting Adib Khorram’s award-winning YA novel Darius The Great Is Not Okay for Universal Studios, with Mandeville Films producing. Hamedani is now currently adapting Pornsak Pichetshote’s popular graphic novel Infidel for TriStar Studios, with Michael Sugar (Spotlight) producing.

In television, Hamedani’s genre-bending, supernatural drama Tether has been put into development by Amazon Studios. In addition to writing the series, Hamedani will serve as the showrunner and executive producer. Daniel Dae Kim and his 3AD production company’s Head of Development John Cheng, and executive Tara Bohn also will executive produce. Amazon Studios head Jonathan Wax and executive Scott Farris will oversee for the streamer.

Hamedani is also developing his other show, the dramatic/thriller, N. for Paramount Pictures. Based on the Stephen King novella, Hamedani is writing the pilot, will serve as the showrunner and executive produce alongside Jack Bender and Paramount.

As a director, Hamedani has won numerous festival awards with his work, including the cult festival film ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction, his award-winning comedy, Junk, as well as his award-winning short film In Her Place.
