Alexandro Pacheco
APWorldFilms (Writer/Director) Producer
Brooklyn, NY
I am a producer. I am part of the Zoom Class of 2020, having finally graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where I was told to: “Be ready on day one.” After winning a slot to shoot my thesis film, I took the first possible weekend and miraculously had it in the can days before the shutdown. I edited, color corrected and sound mixed on my own during the isolation.
I decided to marry my former career in Special Project Management to my current career in Film Production; and so, I produced a series of preview screenings via the Eventive platform and called it an Experience (check it out: ideologies.Eventive.org). The talks were hosted virtually by a friend in Chicago and occurred monthly throughout the spring. From political ideologies and the score to family values and abuse, these livestreams brought me directly to an audience in the middle of a quarantine. Then, in July 2021, I was privileged to watch the 26-minute film in a public screening, thanks to the Latino Film Works in NYC.
Ideologies & The Promise has been recognized with six awards for the score, cinematography and direction and has screened in three festivals to date. You can watch it on filmfreeway.
So, what comes next? It’s ambitious, of course. You can hear me pitch on Saturday or just ask me about it.
